Eaton / Cutler-Hammer BRCAF AFCI Series Circuit Breakers
The Eaton / Cutler-Hammer BRCAF series provides Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) protection for residential branch circuits. Required by NEC 2014 and later in bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, kitchens, and laundry areas.

History and Replacement Context
AFCI circuit breakers were first required by the NEC in 1999 for bedroom circuits. The BRCAF series is Eaton's combination AFCI breaker for BR load centers, detecting both parallel and series arc faults.
